Master Sergeant Wayne Long

 

Master Sergeant Long is currently the Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) for KS-20131. He is originally from North Carolina. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1981 as an Aircraft Pneudraulic Mechanic. His assignments include Shaw AFB, South Carolina, Myrtle Beach AFB, South Carolina, Misawa AFB, Japan, Petersburg, Virginia, and Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. During his twenty years in the Air Force he worked on RF-4C, F-16, and A-10 aircraft. Master Sergeant Long also held numerous positions as an Air Force recruiter. After retiring in 2001 he started teaching Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (AFJROTC) at Chapman High School in Inman, South Carolina. He moved to Topeka, Kansas in July of 2013 to start the AFJROTC program at Washburn Rural High School. Master Sergeant Long is married with three children and six grandchildren.
